Elegant and spirited, the Mazda3 exudes that distinctive Zoom-Zoom appeal. A long wheelbase, a short high deck, short overhangs and compact looking cabin produce coupé style proportions. These set the car in a class of its own.

This means you can enjoy the sporty, exhilarating performance of the Mazda3 powertrain to the absolute maximum. The top-of-the-range 2.0 litre petrol engine now comes with Mazda’s Sequential Valve Timing (S-VT), a six-speed manual transmission and an electronic throttle – all of which combine for superb acceleration, excellent fuel economy and minimal engine noise.

As well as the 2.0 litre, there’s a full range of petrol and diesel engine choices. This allows you to enjoy your ideal balance of fuel economy and power with a satisfying, fine-tuned five-speed transmission. Some models also offer the smooth linear feel of Activematic Transmission, with a choice of fully automatic or pseudo manual shifting.

 

The Mazda3's superior ergonomics put everything precisely where the driver would want it. Similarly, a new instrument panel – with white meters and amber-red backlighting – makes critical information visible at a glance (available on S, TS and TS² grades).

Versatility is the heart of the Mazda3’s interior design. You can adjust the steering wheel and driver's seat in seven different ways to create your perfect driving position. The rear seatback is designed for a 60:40 split, allowing you to fold down its two sides together or individually to create a flat, extended luggage surface.

The spacious boot of the Mazda3  is easy to load. It can hold up to three golf bags or 413 litres of luggage – thanks to a well-designed boot trim and one of the widest boot floors in its class.

There’s impressive storage capacity elsewhere too. The glove compartment comfortably holds a laptop, while the centre console can hold up to 13 CDs. Other practical touches – such as cup holders for your rear passengers – further demonstrate the overall attention to detail.

The Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption (MAIDAS) System is designed to efficiently disperse impact energy in the event of a collision. This helps protect all occupants in the event of an accident. Built around a unique triple H structure, it disperses impact energy across a high rigidity body and resists deformation in all conceivable collisions.

Protecting your property

All models are fitted with a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser system. Its advanced sensor arrangement can detect intrusion through the windows, as well as other areas of the car.
