The Mazda5’s refreshed exterior styling lends it an even more individual and eye-catching appearance.
Its overall balance has been enhanced, emphasising its short nose and solid-looking stance. At the same time, the redesigned front adds a more dynamic element.
The redesigned headlights offer a brighter outlook and lends a luxurious touch. For the rear view, bulbs are brighter and the rear bumper has an integrated fog lamp. It all contributes to a feeling of superior design.
The Sport and Sport Nav models now features a sports styling kit as standard including front and rear sports bumpers, side skirts, distinctive LED rear lights and a sporty rear spoiler.

The line-up comprises the highly acclaimed 1.8-litre (MZR 1.8) petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission and 2.0-litre (MZR 2.0) petrol engine with 6 speed manual. The 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine (MZR-CD) is available with 6-speed manual transmission and two different power outputs 110ps and a high power 143ps. These powerful, responsive engines are at the heart of Mazda5’s thrilling drive, and they prove that driving should be fun.
Higher efficiency engines and new transmissions combine to offer excellent fuel efficiency helping to reduce emissions into the environment.

The updated Mazda5 has full-displaced valve (FDV) front dampers, previously only on the diesel engine model, for even better ride comfort.
Innovative Thinking
Lots of people, lots of luggage and lots of fun. That’s what the spacious Mazda5 is designed for.
The Mazda5 is the only car in its segment with rear sliding doors. The two doors are light, easy to use and have obvious benefits in terms of convenience and access to the 2nd and 3rd row seats.
A new option on the Mazda5 includes electric sliding doors which are part of the luxury pack option also featuring xenon headlights and washers and leather trim. The passenger rear side door can be opened from outside the car using the remote key fob. From inside the car, you can operate the electric doors at the touch of a button. Rear seat passengers can simply pull the handle gently from the interior to activate the electric door mechanism. And for easier entry and exit for third- row passengers, the second-row seats slide forward independently with minimum effort. Electric sliding doors are one of those features – like power steering and central locking – that you soon wonder how you did without!
Innovative seating
With its Karakuri seating system, the Mazda5 Compact Multi-Activity Vehicle (C-MAV) can adapt for carrying cargo by simply folding away the 2nd or 3rd row seats to maximise space.
The lightweight tailgate opens smoothly in two stages, so it’s convenient for all. There's also a concealed sub-trunk to store valuables away from prying eyes or to protect third row seatbacks from muddy items.
The Mazda5 perfectly combines luggage-carrying capability with passenger comfort. Even with seven people on board you can still fit in a folded stroller and two crates of bottled drinks. Fewer people means more room, especially with 50:50 3rd row seat split that further extends your floor options. The 3rd row seats fold flat for even more space.
There are also 45 storage spaces intuitively dotted all around the cabin. Cupholders, underseat compartments, door pockets, glovebox, trays, boxes and hooks – you can keep everything out of the way but still close to hand.
Passenger safety
With its five-star Euro NCAP rating for adult occupation protection, the Mazda5 offers peace of mind for all passengers.
The integrated airbag system features six airbags – including front and side airbags for the driver and first row passenger and curtain airbags for all three rows.
Front row seat belts have pre-tensioners and load limiters for further protection, while all seven are three point seatbelts for better safety. There is a seatbelt reminder driver and the front passenger.
Extra child protection comes with ISOFIX seat anchors for 2nd row outer seats. Child seats are quick and easy to install and won't tip forward in the event of a collision thanks to the tether function.
Rear LED lights
The Mazda5 features the LED rear lamps on the Sport and Sport Nav models. These not only enhance the look of the rear but vastly increase visibility, reducing the risk of collisions. The LED lights also give faster warning of deceleration and are more energy efficient than other bulbs.
Driver assistance
A four-wheel Antilock Braking System (4W-ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) is standard on all Mazda5 vehicles. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control systems are standard on our Sport and Sport Nav models and offer added control on slippery surfaces.
Security measures
A Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser system comes as standard on all Mazda5 models helping you to deter unwanted attention.
An innovative package
Comfortable, conversational and communicative, the Mazda5 offers one of travel's more enjoyable journeys – for up to seven people at a time who can choose to take advantage of some of the innovative features.
Plug your MP3 player into the auxiliary jack in the front console which enables you to and take your favourite driving playlist with you. Hear it through either four or six speakers throughout your car. A CD player (with MP3) is available on TS and TS2 models and a 6-CD autochanger is available on both Sport and Sport Nav models. Volume controls are literally at your fingertips on the steering wheel (from TS2 upwards).
If your mobile phone has Bluetooth equipped, the Sport and Sport Nav models have hands-free voice activated controls. Voice recognition enables you to operate by voice command and convenient steering wheel switch. The Mazda5’s audio system is linked to the phone, muting whatever is playing in order to broadcast the caller’s voice through the audio speaker.
Ideal driving position
The cockpit is arranged so that nothing gets in the way of total driving enjoyment. The seat and steering wheel are adaptable and versatile; the gear stick is central and elevated for ease of use.
With one of the best height ranges in its class, the seat is highly adjustable, as is the steering wheel. Visibility is excellent, meaning fewer blind spots and safer, less stressful driving.
Cruise control is now standard on the Sport and Sport Nav models offering the driver the ability to set his speed with the system taking over the throttle.
Navigation monitor
Monitor the view behind your Mazda5 thanks to the rear-view parking camera, which is available with the DVD satellite navigation 7" touch screen system that is standard on the Sport Nav model. The rear view is displayed on the navigation monitor in front of you when you shift into reverse. Parking in a tight spot has never been easier.
Pleasant atmosphere
Housed in the sleek instrument panel, at the top of an elevated centre stack, the air conditioning system is easy to reach and operate. TS and TS2 models feature air conditioning and Sport and Sport Nav models feature climate control air conditioning. In the rear cabin, tinted privacy glass (standard on Sport and Sport Nav models) will help to keep passengers cool and glare-free in the sunniest weather.
